Tell us about your sports & fitness background.

I’ve played softball since I was 4 and still do til this day, so being an athlete has always been apart of my life.

I also played a little bit of tennis growing up and my freshman year in HS. Fitness wise, I never did anything outside of playing softball.

That was my fitness.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?

My uncle started CrossFit a few years prior to me taking the step to join. His results were amazing and he told me to try a class out with him.

I was hooked on the adrenaline and competitive aspect of it. Eventually, I looked into CF gyms and found CFS. I don’t remember my first WOD but I know I died lol but afterwards it was an accomplishing feeling.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF? (before / after)

When I first started I saw crazy changes in my body overall. The strength I gained, I never thought I would be capable of achieving some of the movements. Nutrition is definitely a key factor and it helped get me on track, I had a horrible way of eating before. The energy I gained by eating right was a huge difference. I still take naps though, I love my sleep!

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?

I’ve gained my confidence back for sure! It’s definitely all in your mind and my mental state has grown stronger. I underestimated what I was capable of and now I know I can truly take on anything I set my mind to. It also helps with my performance during softball tournaments, playing 4-5 games in a day used to be a struggle but now I can get through them without feeling overly exhausted.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFS moments.

I love the community, everyone cheers on everyone and the energy when someone hits a PR is unmatched. The CFS events are my favorite, it’s always a good time!

Any advice for people just getting started?

Jump right in, it’s scary at first but it is so worth it! Everyone starts somewhere, it’s a marathon not a sprint. The lifestyle of exercise and nutrition is worth it and you will be thanking yourself.

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?

Spending time with family and friends, I love going to Disneyland!!! Being with my dogs. Traveling and of course softball.
