Tell us about your sports & fitness background. Answer:

I was never really into sports or fitness. The most I would do was jog a few miles.

 

 

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit?

Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?

I ended up marrying an athlete who taught me the joy of fitness. In 2016, when we got married, he introduced me to Crossfit. My husband was all in. I don’t really remember the first time; however, I do remember the thrill of the sport. For myself, I learned a new way to work out in such a short amount of time. Compared to hours at the gyms, at CFS, we had workouts that were only 30mins or less, and I was huffing and puffing with better results. Before my husband and I joined CFS, we started some minor WODS in the front of the house and then worked our way ended up buying dumbbells, bars, weights, and started following workouts we found on Instagram. Before I knew it, we started working out every day, and I found myself enjoying the sport and how strong I was becoming.

 

 

 

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CF? (before / after) 

 

I did take a break and stopped my routines for a short time. However, when I first started, I remember losing up to 50 pounds and was at my best weight ever. I also became so much stronger. I’m currently still involved with CrossFit today and do not want to give up the sport. I’m working my way back up to get to the goals that I know I can achieve.

 

 

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?

 

When I started CrossFit, I started noticing Crossfit WODs were not enough. I then went into Nutrition coaching and started meal prepping all my meals. This helped me start thinking of a healthy lifestyle. I never use to eat healthy at all, but when I started the journey of CrossFit, that all changed. 

 

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFS moments.

My favorite Crossfit moments were the relationships that have been built along the way. We had a community of kind, funny people that made the WODs even more fun. Watching each other PR and being excited to go further the next time was always something I really felt was special.

 

 

Any advice for people just getting started? 

Never give up no matter how hard it gets. You may lose hope sometimes, but keep trying. The result is a process; you’re not going to get abs overnight.

 

 

What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?

Currently I am pregnant with a baby girl and am studying Sign Language Interpreting at Cal State Long Beach. I love Jesus and worship in my free time; I play the guitar and am always blessed to share the love with others. My interest is Louie Audelo, my sexy husband–together, more than ever, we enjoy the beauty of camping and offroading.
