Tell us about your sports & fitness background.
I started Boxing when I was a child up to my early 20’s. I also played football and wrestled in high school.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD… what was it, and how did it feel?
I had a nutrition coach when I was going to 24 Hr Fitness. His name was Connor and he was one the nicest people I’ve met. When Covid hit 24hr closed and a months later I texted him out of the blue due to being inactive. He told me to stop by CF Saved and they were still open and haven’t stopped coming here ever since. The first wod I think was actually Cindy and it killed me.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF? (before / after)
My legs are way stronger then before and I feel like my mental health and energy has improved a lot. Overall I feel stonger then I did in my teens or even 20’s. You can def tell I put on more muscle on.
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
After taking something on like Crossfit I feel more confident within myself and I actually love high intensity workouts. I thought I would never say that in my lifetime and I am proud of that. I feel like it helps me combat challenges and stress more.
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit / CFS moments.
My favorite moments have been workouts where the whole gym is full on Saturdays and when there are events outside the gym like Holiday dinner or the beach.
Any advice for people just getting started?
My advice for people trying crossfit for the first time is to just start slow and really learn the technique of some movements.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit?
I love to surf, hike, and go shooting with my son and hang out with friends and family.
