I started CrossFit Nutrition in May of 2020 and CrossFit Training in August 2020 at CrossFit Saved

Tell us about your sports and fitness background?
Growing up I played soccer, volleyball, and danced in HS and ran track. Never did I think I would ever do anything like CrossFit. The moment I picked up that barbell I was hooked and wanted more and more! I finally found my sport and something I could always improve on.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first workout…what was it, and how did it feel?
I first was introduced to CrossFit when I reconnected with Claudia through Instagram and started nutrition coaching with her during the pandemic. Most gyms were closed during this time and I decided to give CrossFit a chance! Feeling confident after losing 12-15 pounds I thought it would be fun and I started going 3 times a week. It only took a few weeks for me to upgrade my membership to unlimited! My first WOD I believe was a lifting day on back squats and ring dips!
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit?
Throughout my time I’ve seen myself improve my mile time, do regular push-up’s, see muscle definition and most importantly I sustained a healthy pregnancy while working out. I’ve slowly seen myself get back to my fittest self postpartum. I’m still nowhere near where I want to be, but my biggest motivation is myself, as I’ve seen how far I’ve come along!
What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?
The discipline and consistency is something that I did not expect I would have. I had always assumed what I needed to do to be fit, but was never able to achiever the results I wanted. My relationship with food, has completely changed, i never thought that would be possible.
What has been your favorite CrossFit moment?
My favorite CrossFit moment was when I was able to do a regular push-up! Never had I ever done that! Lifting more than 200lbs was always a dream of mine and I did that!
Any advice for people just getting started?
My advice on anyone that wants to get started is to really just do it! There comes a point where you get tired of your own excuses and say enough is enough.
What are your hobbies, interest and/or talents outside of CrossFit?
Outside of CrossFit my kids keep me busy. I love hanging out with my family/friends on day trips to LA and visiting different coffee shops!
