This week we saw a new movement to us,

The Inverted Row.

Many of us wondered why we are doing this movement? What’s the point? What muscles does it work?

Little did we know this movement has many benefits.

1. This movement has great variations for beginner, intermediate and advanced athletes. So no matter where you’re at fitness wise, this movement is 100% doable for you.

2. This movement is great for adding volume on pulling days, like deadlifts or any pulling movements. It doesn’t have a high impact on your joints so it won’t add stress to them, so makes perfect for a pulling warm up.

3. Also, you can do this movement almost anywhere, it doesn’t necessarily need to be in a gym. As long as you have any way to pull your body up.

4.Lastly and most importantly, you’ll be targeting your back muscles and shoulder muscles. However, the biceps and core also play a significant role in this movement.

We can use this movement as a warm up, some accessory work for our back and shoulders, and even a finisher!

So the next time you’re looking to add some volume to your workout, don’t forget about the inverted row .
